There are three options to manage your NDIS funding - self-managed, plan-managed and NDIA managed. Find out more about types of funding management.
Self-management - the NDIA provides you with funding so you can access the supports that will best help you pursue your goals. Find out more about self-management.
Plan-management funding - The NDIA will provide funding in your plan to pay for a Plan Manager who pays your providers for you, helps you keep track of funds and takes care of financial reporting for you. Find out more about Plan-managed funding.
NDIA-managed funding - The NDIA pays your providers on your behalf. Find out more about NDIA-managed funding.
If you’re in the middle of your plan and don’t have a plan review coming up, you may request to change your funding management type by contacting your LAC or the NDIS directly.Contact | NDIS

Support coordinators will help with different things depending on:
Some support coordination providers may also have specific skills, expertise or experience which can support you to focus on specific goals, such as moving out of home. Find out more about Support Coordination.
Your funding is based on what is ‘reasonable and necessary’ to pursue your goals, in addition to the support provided by family, friends, and other community and government services.
Where reasonable and necessary, support coordination will be included in the Capacity Building budget. This is a fixed amount for a support coordinator to help you use your plan.
If your plan describes (or ‘states’) the level of support coordination funded, you can only purchase this level of support coordination.
If your plan does not describe the level of support coordination funded, you can choose to purchase the level of support coordination that suits your needs.
Your planner can help you find and connect with a support coordinator.
